Remember Me

It was at that time
poetry arrived
Soulful whisper, in search
of me
It came from, winter's icy showers
or a thunder storm before me
I don't know how it found me,
among the wise and pure
A dust of soul beneath the ice and fire
with fragile breath
bare living
It came in silence on tear covered winds
No words for wings laced the bringing
Received within a tortured
sigh
hear me in the dark of chaos
from the branches
of night
Among the dead I cry
a soul without a face
reaching
to touch
remember me...

Prolong the night

Hold back from us the golden sandal dawn
already on the sea the fading light of dream's
and then your gone
Make it seem an eternity
forgotten life that peels our soul
sorrow cannot find us now
In night
our gentle cover folds

Prolong the night
Of rapture pending, warmth of kiss
with dusk, the last bird's cry
and the flap
of bat's low flight
Trees
that go black
against the sky
of pounding hearts
do seek

We live forever in just this day
the wine of darkness,
our field of play
and with the dawn,
our bridge of wind,
that carries our hearts away
How soon the night
will end....

Criminal Heart

I imagined you standing there
still as a deer,
caught in a headlight trance
Only the sound
of a clock, steady chimes one
to a sudden chill of deceit,
no time left
The beginning is marked with a slow
metronome beat
Quiet eyes , cold, unfeeling

The words were one
to five
I wasn't there, but I felt them
roll across my soul,
in quiet thunder

Wrapped in quilt, handcuffed
to your sins
Its hard to deny,
when your view is through bars
and I cry for you
wanting for a life, you threw away
even with your ego
you must know,
its too late

There is only this now
this today
My prison term ended
when they took you away
and God forgive me
For the relief I feel

Now my thoughts are
to protect
the only beauty of our bond

To my precious son:

You child, are only the skin
of the man I once loved
Never to be one
with a criminal heart…..

Gypsy Rose
On the darkened stage of silence
Whispers of silk rustling drift
Slow the center light grows
Dim landing on a perfect paper rose

Tap..Tap...Tap

A tambourine appears in the shadows
Held high, by a magical source
A soft haunting serenade begins
Then suddenly fades too soon

Silence, long and heavy
As the paper rose began to flame
Casting fire light upon a meadow
That once was a stage

Ribbons of chiffon moonlight
Fall on the shadowing distances
Lighting the caravans painted
With the name Gypsy Rose

Golden skinned forms
Leaped from the blazing fire
Clad in skirts of ruffles and light
To dance beneath an ancient moon
Those haunting souls of Gypsy Rose

Dancing, whirling shirts of light
Flashing teeth of pearls
with eyes of velvet night

Then, I blinked and they were gone
I was left standing on an empty stage
In a quiet, darkened, lonely cafe
With only the center stage light on
Holding a single paper rose.

Mistress of The Sea
Her soul dwelled within the sea
Eyes as dark as dark could be
Her heart would lie in shallow pools,
iced over with crystals hues
This woman that kept pain at bay
tever giving her, heart away

Life flowed within her cold sea veins
an empty heart for all to see
She, the Mistress of the sea
with passion spilling from her pen
This strange cold creature
that feels no love for any man

Gentlemen flowed towards her
with hearts full of desperate love
She rolled her eyes and yawned
then feed them shredded ego brunch

For all the beauty of this world
only one truly touched her heart
The man that calmed her chaos seas
with mere whisper of her name

His heart of pure and constant thought
with soul, as mighty as the land
He reached into her darkened sea
awakening her soul eclipse,
into the breath of rapture
and wisdom be his name

Briefcase Mambo
Packed in snug as a bug
In an ocean of smog breathing tar
Executive's of the freeway
with one hand on the wheel
the other glued to a cell
everyone but me
softly humming

Traffic jam confusion its five o'clock
Cellular jungle
Briefcase mambo
Everyone 's breathing fire
nerve's on edge
everyone but me
softly humming
cranking sounds
bare feet in the wind

Distant crash
Oops a fender bender
stomping sounds on metal hoods
there goes the man, in hot pursuit
tag the guy with the gun
I'm so bored
softly humming, popping gum

Police bull horns blaring
Clear the road now!!
Yeah right
and I walk on water too
wish I had some Kool-Aid
softly humming

OK...ok excuse me!
Move where?
looking out over miles
of bumper to bumper cars

Wow, could you teach me that finger thing
glances at the law over tops of sunglasses
blows a big bubble,
frustrations released
Yeow, hubba bubba

Natures Hue
Between the covers of white fluff

A slight strip of pale light blue

Bends to sea horizon's west

Womb of wind's caress

Whispered embrace of earth's warm breath

Pulsing Sun to water's flow

Into rivers sensual song

Awake to spring, winter's gone

First thawing snow melt trickle

Then throb uncontrollable blue

Quivering banks spread wide and deep

Moans of natures hue

Clear Dawn
Soul Light dances behind black shinning glass
Windows of steel watching them pass
Dark eyes searching for the perfect direction
If you only knew what I see in your reflection
The bleeding dawn of burning light
Spinning
soundless beauty of deep swelling pools
you in me, me in you
It's a clear dawn,
the face of wind
is you....

Soft Glow Red

Shadow of a single silhouette
waiting beneath a lonely street lamp
bathed in warm nights rain
Smoke,
drifts mystical on perfumed light
pulsing with mingled blues
distant thunder sigh
New Orleans purring
velvet dampness of the night
Feel it?
Voodoo, drums charm
heavy with mood
feels of pounding heart's
Eyes closed, she leans back
and waits
reaching past time
beyond mortal boundary
her dark eyes piercing midnight

He feels her,
as he rounds the corner
his coat billowing, as dark wings
gliding over wet streets
Long dark hair damp from rain
Inhaling her scent
he reaches to touch soft pale skin

Her breathe trembles in
as she steps into the soft moan
of his caress

they melt
Soft glow red
on pale, pale skin

Fragile Not the Rose
The moon cast its pale luminously glow
Earthbound, a silent tear drop fall's
Penetrating a dream veil
Weeps down on fragile rose's
Petals of deformity
Spellbound in azure realms
Numb to beauty of blue horizons
The rose lifts its dying face
one last time
To drink the dust of cruel mankind
From the darkened silent sky
a single tear drop falls
The weight unbearable
onto the fragile dying rose
With a loud and tortured cry
the rose begged mercy from the sky
Weeping tears into the dust below
The frail rose now
begins to grow....

I write out of need
I write for I believe
That the magical ink
of a poet's pen
Can tame a restless heart
