New Old Thing
Like the faded new smell in
the interior of a slightly used
old car, the excitement
still clings to the walls of
something newly discovered.
For the previous owner,
that newness now gone -
maybe he moves on for something newer.
But I like old stuff with the
slight fasten of new - and
even the previous owner�s
presence can still be seen
or felt in an invisible aura
that I�ve now captured, and hold.
Sitting and smelling and smiling,
I�m happy with this recently acquired
new/old thing - and whistle
a happy tune as my day begins.
